It has been snowing most of the day today. It was only snowing a little when I drove in to work today but it was enough to totally screw up the traffic. As soon as I parked, it started snowing harder off and on for the rest of the day. All I could think about was 2 things:
1. I hope it doesn’t snow all day and then the drive home will suck immensely
B. Who the hell am I going to get to shovel my driveway if we get a lot of snow.
See, while MXV version 2.0 is feeling damn good with his new back and all, he is still quite fragile and shoveling snow is simply not an option.
I need to buy a snowblower. ASAP. Two problems present themselves with this need:
A: Finding a way to bring it home. I can’t lift the f’n thing and it won’t fit in my car. Gotta find someone with a van or truck.
2. Recouping the $. I mean, I could pay for it, but between all the money I blew on records while laid up recovering from surgery, my deductible from the medical shit, the plane ticket I just bought to go see my sister for xmas, and the pimping I got from the IRS thanks to my having the world’s shittiest accountant, I am low on the funds. Oh yeah, xmas presents I gotta buy still too. Time to fire up the new digital camera and take some pix and sell shit on ebay.
Luckily the snow that stuck to the driveway isn’t too much where I can’t drive up and down it without getting stuck, so for now I can leave it how it is.
The drive home didn’t suck so bad. I did stay at work a bit longer than normal tonite as I was working on something good. I had a good day at work, I got a feature working the way I wanted that has been in the back of my mind for quite awhile. It is going to make the game so much better.
check out amazon. my officemate just bought a snowblower from them with free shipping. you don’t need to go to the store or worry how to get it home! that problem solved, now you need to find someone to do it for you. can’t pay any kids in the neighborhood?
did you at least find your parking spot? cuz that throws me off for an entire day if im in parking limbo.
Thanks for the tip Jah. I checked it out but the ones at amazon only do up to 6″ of snow, a little small for some of the big snows we get here.
Parking spot at work Liz? We just have to park on the street wherever we can find it. Lately it has been really easy to find spots. I’ve had good luck since coming back in the parking department. God damn Chicago and it’s no parking lots anywhere unless you pay a fortune at a paid lot!
