Lately since the price of gas has gone through the roof, I find myself not driving when at all possible, and instead walking just about anywhere I think I can make it. I’ve been selling crap on ebay to help keep the lights on, which means I have to go to the post office pretty often to mail the stuff that I’ve sold. It is a pretty nice and long trip, 5 miles round-trip to be exact, and the post office is right in the heart of downtown Downers Grove. I always carry my camera in a backpack in case something interesting happens, which is pretty much never but I did snap a few pix of some of the “sights” of downtown.
The train, they must have just painted all the wheel gimmicks on them because they sure looked shiny.
I hung around here for about 15 minutes or so but no one came by to offer me a kiss or a ride so I walked back home.
I had taken some others on a previous journey, but I wasn’t happy with the way they came out, maybe I’ll try again when I walk down there later today.
