A couple days after Riot Fest I found myself once again at a show with my camera in hand. The reason I was out late on a “school night”? To see Destroy Everything yet again. How can I deny going to see and shoot some of my best friends’ band? The simple answer is no matter how tired I was, I couldn’t say no.

After a long drive in the pouring rain, I got to the club while the first band was playing. I didn’t catch their name unfortunately and I was busy talking to Senor Citizen and catching up. Eventually I found my way inside the club side of the bar to see the second band, Forth Yeer Freshmen (yes, that is how it is spelled). They had a dirty southern rock sound to them. I stuck around for a few of their songs then went back to the bar to have a beer with some friends.

Destroy Everything closed the show. This was my first time seeing them with their new drummer outside of hanging around them practicing with him. I have to say that kid is a solid addition to the band. They played their usual mix of songs from their forthcoming album along with some older favorites that I’ve heard so many times now I practically know the lyrics by heart. As usual they sounded really good and the small crowd who turned out for the show on this rainy evening seemed to enjoy themselves.

After the show I said my goodbyes to all my friends and drove in even harder rain home, exhausted from so many shows in so few days, and there was still one more to do this week…
Additional photos from this show can be found on MXV’s flickr stream starting tomorrow.
hooray for Destroy Everything!!!! great pix!
Damn, I missed them again. I really want to see them live. When did Cocoa Hole leave the band?
