T minus 13 days until the knife

Saw the surgeon today to discuss the back surgery. It doesn’t sound that bad really and I was told of all the types of surgery for the back, the one I am getting is the one you would pick given the choice. They make a small incision, move shit to the side, and cut off just the bad part of the disc. If all goes well, I’ll be out the same day barring either the spine springing a leak or getting a fever, and I’ll be home for a month recovering. After that, I should be back to normal and can slowly resume all the activities that I have been missing out on. While it will be too cold for bike rides or golf, I will sure enjoy walking without pain and being able to play pinball again! This back injury has cheated me out of so much this year, it is nice to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. On the way there, I noticed a bank and their sign said “Free Krispy Kreme Donuts for customers”! I think i need to switch banks! On the way back, I picked up the prescription of full strength vicodins I got since the last stuff they tried giving me only served to rob me of sleep and not alleviate the pain. I also can’t be on any anti-inflammatory stuff between now and the knife, so they gave me the good stuff.

I got the Peer Pressure 7″ in the mail today in a record trade I did. It is quite rare and I had to trade a lot for it, but I have another super rarity in the vault at least. I haven’t had time to play it yet. I am watching the Butthole Surfers DVD I got to review for the site. I had forgotten how great this was (it was originally on video but has been out of print nearly 15 years and I have not seen it in about 10). That band sure was something special back in the day. These days they suck about as much ass as say Limp Bizkit, but the Buttholes of old were magical I tell you, their stuff still holds up today and I still listen to it on a regular basis.

I am just counting the minutes until the season premiere of Smallville tonite, I can’t wait!
