1.When you listen to music, do you focus on the music or the lyrics? Both? Neither? Why/why not?
It depends on my mood and what I’m listening to at the time.
2. Do you have a particular favorite instrument in which you focus on when you’re listening to music? Are you able to pick out a part and concentrate on it?
Again it depends on the song. Sometimes it is the drums (such as in the Drunk Injuns song “Program”), sometimes it is the guitars, etc.
3. How important is it to you that band be able to play their instruments well? Why/why not?
I listen to punk rock, where sometimes, NOT being able to play well was what made the music so damn good. Look at all the hardcore bands that turned metal when they learned how to play their instruments better, they ended up sucking ass!
