The weekend in review

I had a pretty good weekend. Friday night I went to see Chronicles of Narnia at the Tivoli thanks to the gift card I got for xmas. I actually looked like a “real man” by being able to “pay” for myself and lovely companion despite the fact that I really had no money! The movie was really good, I was surprised by how much I liked it. I figured it would be good and heard good things, but it was better than I expected it to be. Someday when it’s back in the budget, that DVD will go on the “to buy” list. The popcorn was as great as always. I don’t know what their secret is, but the Tivoli has the best popcorn on the planet.

Saturday was the first session of pinball league. I scored 21 points which is pretty average. I should have done way better but for some reason I am cursed when it comes to playing in league and always end up sucking and having the worst luck. I play way better when I’m just hanging out playing with a friend or two. I still had a nice time though and I ate so many snacks that I was full until the next day. One of the games at this particular house was The Sopranos, which I had never seen before. It wasn’t bad, but it was kind of a drain fest and that left ramp has such a tight bend that it often rejects balls which I feel was a fairly large design flaw. Also that drop target often causes an instant drain due to it being so low and in your face. There should have been some software compensation for that like they did in Indiana Jones which had a similar problem.

Sunday truly was the day of rest. I sat around the house and watched TV and DVDs for most of the day and even took a nap. I slept very poorly the two days prior so I had some catching up to do.
